The hotel was comfortable, had lovely views and stunning location right by garden. The classic king room was cheap, very well taken care of. The bathroom was best, with a bath. We truly enjoyed it and can recommend the place.

I enjoyed staying in this high-classfamily-friendly hotel. I booked a room with a comfortable bed, terrace, air conditioner, and a minibar. The staff were so very helpful all the time. The service was efficient, just like I expected. What's more, free Wi-Fi was very effective. The stay was very good...
The location was not great.

-All the reception staff and bar staff were excellent, very helpful. I only know Duncan's name but everyone was great. The Sunday bar menu was good and everyone enjoyed their food. -The Nespresso machine! (Almost makes up for the lack of complimetary water!) - The bar and the courtyard
- Paying £10 for parking. - Lack of complimentary water. - There were also problems with breakfast as it was apparently very busy.

We were immediately upgraded when asked why we were staying at the hotel. We hadn't requested an upgrade and it wasn't expected but were very happy for the opportunity. The room was first class with the added extra of a balcony that enabled us to have breakfast in the morning outside. The bathroom was luxurious with a beautiful rain shower - amazing! Also, the restaurant and bar was beautiful and we were made to feel very special patrons.
Would have liked complimentary toothpaste included in the toiletries in the bathroom!

Facilities very good. Quality location. Staff very helpful especially when we had a problem with our room. Duty Manager handled the situation very well and as a good manager should. Excellent breakfast.
Parking was limited on site (£10a day) but plenty of parking nearby.

We have stayed in several Hotel Du Vin's and have never been disappointed. This hotel was lovely. I asked for a quiet room and got just that and we were also upgraded on arrival. The staff were lovely and the bar area was relaxing and busy which was surprising as we were there Sunday and Monday evenings which you would expect to be quiet. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. I was very impressed with the fact that my husband inadvertently left the do not disturb sign on our door all day and we got back to the hotel at 5 in the afternoon and found the room had not been made up. We went out for an early evening drink and got back to our room at 6.30 and the room had been cleaned and tidied. Great service in my view! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and full marks to the staff for making the stay really enjoyable.

I loved the beautiful Hamworthy Park just a little over 1 km away, perfect for a relaxing stroll, and the vibrant Poole Waterfront Museum nearby was a highlight that added to my weekend adventure. The staff were also friendly and very accommodating.

This time our visit was wonderful - last time we walked through a maze of staircases and corridors and the room was just okay - this time we were given Casa in the main house and loved it. Staff great. We are old customers of most of the hdv hotels, particularly Winchester for the past 15 years. One small black mark - the usually great breakfast was oversalted, hard poached eggs, cold toast but very nice servers so we decided it wasnt worth spoiling the moment.
